half moon nails

like any regular lazy sunday, i was browsing around the internet and came across an article about the half moon nail trend. i thought it looked so unique and so totally AWESOME (!) that
i decided to give it a try. i found an easy step by step guide (it really isn't too hard, it's just a reverse french manicure) and then started figuring out which color combos looked the best. I went with a summery coral since you know it's still summer and all, the 110 degree weather keeps reminding me, and paired it with a nice neutral to give it a more vintage-y feel. i didn't know this until reading more about it, but it was actually a really popular trend in the '30s and '40s! just thought i'd give you all a little history lesson as well, get those old brain juices flowing since school is starting soon :) below are some pictures of what the final result was! please ignore the slightly messy paint job, i hadn't gone around the edges to clean them before i took the pics and you know no one's perfect!

the lighting makes the coral a little more pink, but in real life it's more of an orange and the neutral is a grayish purple! i think next time i want to make the top color come down a little bit more, it was kinda hard getting the sticker thing positioned right though and i never knew how much it was covering, but i still loved the results! definitely going to try again with all kinds of different colors.
colors used:
-wet n wild wild shine in blazed
-rimmel lasting finish pro in steel gray

hope you enjoyed! :)
